Zelapar Side Effects
Although many people have no problems with Zelapar, side effects can occur. Clinical studies have shown that some of the most common side effects include nausea, dizziness, and headaches. If side effects do occur, they tend to be minor and easily treated. However, serious side effects of Zelapar that require immediate medical attention include depression, hallucinations, and allergic reactions.
An Introduction to Zelapar Side EffectsAs with any medicine, side effects are possible with Zelapar® (orally disintegrating selegiline). However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience side effects. Many people tolerate it fairly well. If side effects do occur, they are often minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider. However, serious Zelapar side effects are also possible.
(This article covers many, but not all, of the possible side effects with Zelapar. Your healthcare provider can discuss a more complete list of Zelapar side effects with you.)
Common Zelapar Side EffectsZelapar has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in a group of people taking the drug were documented and compared to the side effects that occurred in another group of people taking a placebo (a "sugar pill" that does not contain any active ingredients). As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the group not taking the medicine.
In clinical studies, common side effects of Zelapar included:

- Dizziness -- up to 11 percent
- Pain -- up to 8 percent
