Zelapar Drug Interactions

Certain Zelapar drug interactions can increase your risk of serious side effects, such as high blood pressure, confusion, or seizures. Some of the medications that may interact with Zelapar include certain antidepressants; pressors; and cough, cold, or allergy medications. To avoid these problems, talk to your healthcare provider about possible drug interactions with Zelapar that may apply to you.

Zelapar Drug Interactions: An Overview

Zelapar® (orally disintegrating selegiline) can potentially interact with many medications. Because so many Zelapar drug interactions can be dangerous, it is important to check with your healthcare provider before combining Zelapar with any other medicine, regardless of whether it is a prescription or over-the-counter medicine. Make sure to tell all your healthcare providers (including dentists and surgeons) that you are taking Zelapar. Some of the medicines that may lead to Zelapar drug interactions include:
 
 
    • Dextromethorphan (Robitussin DM® and many others)
    • Naphazoline (various nasal and eyedrops, such as Visine-A®)
    • Oxymetazoline (various nasal and eyedrops, such as Afrin®)
    • Phenylephrine (Sudafed PE® and many others)
    • Propylhexedrine (Benzedrex®)
    • Pseudoephedrine (Sudafed® and many others)
 
 
 
  • Propoxyphene medications (Balacet™, Darvon®, Darvocet®)
  • "Pressor" medications, such as:
 
    • Dopamine
    • Ephedrine
    • Epinephrine (Adrenalin®, EpiPen®)
    • Isometheptene (Duradrin®, Midrin®, Migquin®, Migratine®, Migrazone®, Migrin-A®)
    • Levonordefrin (Carbocaine with Neo-Cobefrin®)
    • Midodrine (Orvaten®, ProAmatine®)
    • Norepinephrine (Levophed®)
 
 
 
  • Stimulants, such as:
