Zelapar Drug Interactions

SSRI or SNRI Antidepressants
Do not take Zelapar and an SSRI or SNRI together, due to the risk of serious side effects. Because certain SSRIs or SNRIs can stay in your body for quite a while, make sure to ask your healthcare provider when you can start taking an SSRI or SNRI after stopping Zelapar (or vice versa).
 
St. John's Wort
Do not take Zelapar with St. John's wort (an herbal supplement), due to the risk of dangerous side effects.
 
Stimulants
Do not take stimulants and Zelapar within two weeks of each other, due to the risk of dangerous side effects, such as high blood pressure.
 
Tolcapone (Tasmar)
Combining tolcapone and Zelapar can lead to dangerous side effects. If your healthcare provider recommends that you take these medications together, you may need to be monitored more closely.
 
Tramadol (Rybix ODT, Ryzolt, Ultram, Ultram ER) or Tramadol and Acetaminophen (Ultracet)
You should not take tramadol while taking Zelapar (or even if you have taken Zelapar within the past 14 days), due to the risk of dangerous side effects.
 
Tricyclic Antidepressants
