Tasmar can cause fatal liver failure. In order to catch liver problems before they become dangerous, your healthcare provider should check your liver enzymes before you start using the drug, then every two to four weeks for the first six months, and then periodically thereafter as your healthcare provider deems necessary. This is done with a simple blood test. If at any time your liver enzymes increase to more than twice the upper limit of normal, you must stop taking Tasmar permanently.
