Sinemet and BreastfeedingWomen who are taking Sinemet (carbidopa-levodopa) and breastfeeding should know that the drug does pass through breast milk. Because Sinemet can decrease the level of prolactin, it may negatively affect a woman's ability to breastfeed successfully. However, it is not known if this medication would cause any problems in the nursing infant.
