Who Should Not Take Sinemet CR?

You should not take Sinemet CR if you:
 
  • Are allergic to Sinemet CR, carbidopa, levodopa, or any of the inactive components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
  • Have narrow-angle glaucoma.
  • Have a suspicious, undiagnosed skin lesion or a history of melanoma.
  • Take a non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), such as:
