Dosing for Ropinirole

Proper dosing for ropinirole generally ranges from 0.25 mg to 24 mg or 0.25 mg to 4 mg per day, depending on whether you are treating Parkinson's disease or restless legs syndrome (RLS). It is very important to know that dosing guidelines for Parkinson's and RLS are extremely different, so be sure to following dosage directions carefully. Dosing for Ropinirole: An Introduction

The dose of ropinirole hydrochloride, otherwise known as Requip®, your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:
 
As is always the case, do not adjust your dose, unless specifically instructed by your healthcare provider to do so. The dosing directions for Parkinson's disease and restless legs syndrome are different. Make sure to follow your healthcare provider's instructions carefully.
 

Dosing for Ropinirole: Parkinson's Disease

The recommended starting dosage for people with Parkinson's disease is 0.25 mg three times a day. Your healthcare provider may choose to increase the dose if symptoms continue or decrease the dose if side effects pf ropinirole occur. It may take several weeks to find the correct ropinirole dosage for your particular situation.
 
Ropinirole dosages of more than 24 mg per day have not been tested in Parkinson's disease research studies.
 
When it is time to stop your dosing for ropinirole, your healthcare provider will gradually decrease the dose over a week or two.
