Requip XL Dosage

Your healthcare provider will determine your Requip XL dosage based on how you respond to the medication, other medications you are already taking, and other factors. Requip XL comes in tablet form and is taken once a day. Typically, the recommended starting dose of Requip XL is 2 mg once daily. Your healthcare provider can slowly increase this dose to a maximum of 24 mg per day.

An Introduction to Requip XL Dosage

The dose of Requip® XL (ropinirole XL) that your healthcare provider recommends will vary depending on a number of factors, including:
 
  • How you respond to Requip XL
  • Other medications you are taking
  • Any other medical conditions you may have.
     
As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically instructs you to do so.
 

Recommended Requip XL Dosing

The recommended starting Requip XL dose is 2 mg once daily. After one or two weeks, your healthcare provider may slowly increase your dose (by up to 2 mg each week), up to a maximum of 24 mg once daily.
 
If you are switching from short-acting Requip, refer to the following chart for the recommended conversion from Requip to Requip XL:

Because Requip XL tablets cannot be split, you may need to take more than one strength to achieve the proper dose.
