Pramipexole
Pramipexole may help relieve symptoms associated with restless legs syndrome and early and advanced forms of Parkinson's disease. This prescription medication comes in tablet form and is taken one to three times a day. Before beginning treatment, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of all other medical conditions you have and any other medications you are taking.
Pramipexole dihydrochloride (Mirapex®) is a prescription medication approved to treat the following conditions:
- Parkinson's disease (both early and advanced forms)
- Moderate-to-severe restless legs syndrome (RLS).

Just like any medicine, pramipexole can cause side effects. However, not everyone who takes the drug will experience problems. Most people tolerate it quite well. If side effects do occur, in many cases, they are minor and either require no treatment or are easily treated by you or your healthcare provider.
Common side effects of pramipexole include but are not limited to:
- Low blood pressure (hypotension)
- Nausea
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Insomnia
- Hallucinations.
