Mirapex ER Medication Information
Mirapex® ERTM (pramipexole ER) is available only by prescription and is approved for treating Parkinson's disease. This long-acting, once-daily medication is not appropriate for everyone; your healthcare provider needs complete information on your medical history and what medicines you are taking before prescribing Mirapex ER.
Even though many people do not have any problems while taking it, this medication can cause side effects, such as drowsiness, nausea, and constipation. If negative reactions do occur, they tend to be mild and easily treated.
Mirapex ER comes in the form of extended-release tablets and is taken once a day. Do not crush, chew, cut, or dissolve the tablets, as this will cause the medicine to be released too quickly.
