Parkinsons Disease Home > Exelon for Parkinson's
People typically think of dementia as being related to Alzheimer's disease, but did you know that Parkinson's disease can also cause such problems? Though not a cure, Exelon® (rivastigmine tartrate) can be used to improve symptoms of mild-to-moderate dementia due to Parkinson's disease (as well as Alzheimer's). It will not help with tremors or other Parkinson's symptoms.
Exelon comes in the form of capsules, an oral solution, and a patch. In some cases, the medication can be prescribed for an unapproved (off-label) use, such as for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or Tourette syndrome.
