When antipsychotics, diltiazem, or medications that contain levodopa are taken with Mirapex ER, drug interactions may occur. These interactions can alter the level of Mirapex ER in your blood and increase your risk of side effects. It is important not to take these medications together without your healthcare provider's approval and supervision.
An Overview of Interactions With Mirapex ERMirapex® ER™ (pramipexole ER) can potentially interact with a number of other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Mirapex ER include but are not limited to:
- Cimetidine (Tagamet®)
- Diltiazem (Cardizem®, Cardizem CD®, Cardizem LA®, Cartia XT®, Dilacor XR®, Dilt-CD®, Diltia XT®, Dilt-XR®, Taztia XT®, Tiazac®)
- Medications that contain levodopa (Parcopa®, Sinemet®, Sinemet® CR, Stalevo®)
- Metoclopramide (Reglan®)
- Pramipexole (Mirapex®)
- Ranitidine (Zantac®)
- Triamterene (Dyrenium®) or triamterene/HCTZ (Dyazide®, Maxzide®)
- Verapamil (Calan®, Calan SR®, Covera-HS®, Isoptin SR®, Verelan®, Verelan PM®).
