Artane® (trihexyphenidyl hydrochloride) is a medication that can be prescribed for treating extrapyramidal symptoms caused by antipsychotic medications and Parkinson's disease (as well as other similar conditions). It is a type of anticholinergic drug that works by blocking the effects of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. Artane comes in tablet and elixir form, and is generally taken three or four times a day.
