Apokyn Drug Interactions

Blood pressure medicines, diuretics, and nitrates are some of the drugs that can interact with Apokyn. Some Apokyn drug interactions may cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended. These interactions can increase the risk of serious conditions, including dangerously low blood pressure or a dangerous irregular heart rhythm known as QT prolongation.

 

Apokyn Drug Interactions: An Overview

Apokyn® (apomorphine hydrochloride) can potentially interact with several different medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to Apokyn interactions include:
 

 

    • Isosorbide dinitrate (BiDil®, Dilatrate® SR, Isochron™, Isordil®)
    • Isosorbide mononitrate (Imdur®, Ismo®, Monoket®)
    • Nitroglycerin tablets or capsules (Nitroquick®, Nitrostat®, Nitro-Time®)
    • Nitroglycerin ointment (Nitro-Bid®)
    • Nitroglycerin patches (Minitran®, Nitrodisc®, Nitro-Dur®, Transderm-Nitro®, Transderm-NTG®)
    • Nitroglycerin spray (Nitrolingual®)
