Apokyn and Breastfeeding

Since no studies have been done to see if Apokyn (apomorphine) passes through breast milk in women, the manufacturer of Apokyn advises that women avoid this medication while breastfeeding. If you are taking Apokyn and breastfeeding or plan to start breastfeeding, make sure to talk with your healthcare provide about what is best for your situation.

 

An Overview of Apokyn and Breastfeeding

At this time, it is unknown if Apokyn® (apomorphine hydrochloride) passes through breast milk. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider before taking Apokyn if you are breastfeeding or plan to start breastfeeding.
 

Can I Take Apokyn While Breastfeeding?

No studies have been done to see if Apokyn passes through breast milk. The manufacturer of Apokyn recommends that women not take Apokyn while breastfeeding.
