Amantadine is approved to treat or prevent the flu in children as young as one year old. However, it is not approved for other uses in children.
 

Is Amantadine Used for Off-Label Reasons?

On occasion, your healthcare provider may recommend amantadine for treating something other than the uses discussed in this article. This is called an "off-label" use. At this time, there is some interest in using amantadine off-label to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and chronic hepatitis C.
